Assessment of a unit of competency
Assessment is the process of forming and recording a judgement about a person's skills and knowledge with respect to a unit(s) of competency. The assessor and candidate together negotiate the assessment plan, process and timeframe to suit the unit, workplace and other impacting factors or conditions.
Assessment methods include:
- workplace observations
- interviews
- portfolio of evidence
- workplace reports
- projects etc
