National Audit Registering Agency (NARA)

In November 2006 the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education agreed to establish a national registration, audit and approval function in TVET Australia in order to reduce the audit burden on multi-jurisdictional RTOs.

Multi-jurisdictional RTOs eligible to move their registration to TVET Australia are those which are:

  • Registered on NTIS as having notified an intention to operate in more than one State or Territory; and provide their State or Territory registering body with evidence of their current multi-jurisdictional operations, or
  • provide their registering body with evidence that they will commence operations in another jurisdiction within six months; or
  • Registered on NTIS as currently operating in their registering jurisdiction only and provide their registering body with evidence showing that they will commence operations in another jurisdiction(s) within six months; or
  • A new training organisations seeking registration for the first time and provide their registering body with evidence showing that they will be operating in more than one jurisdiction within six months.
